I pose this question to allow you to think about what these two things actually mean to you. Can you find peace amidst difficulties and distractions? I know that inner tranquility is different for each one of us. To find comfort, settled emotions, and a relatively relaxed inner state is not always easy to do. Especially when the ups and downs of lives occur while we walk our path called life. "Life is always moving." It is never constant and with this comes the realization that things will happen, even with a positive mindset and overall high vibration. Peace for me is to operate from a place that removes negative people, negative thinking, and allows you to operate from a centered point of inner strength, even while life may push you to the limit. My definition of peace does not mean that is the end all be all, because we all interpret life so different. But your definition of peace should actually be thought of for you to determine what it truly means for you.
In essence, joy is something different than just having peace. The inner feeling of operating from a joyful state can be thought of as the feeling tied to your spirit. It's not the same as happiness or even excitement, although you can have both while operating from authentic joy! Joy embodies an expression that is not based on what the world presents you, but an inherent ability to allow gratitude, high vibration, and that all-encompassing framework may evade you if focus is not placed on the inner world or mental mindset. This is how someone that does not have many possessions can still have incredible joy that seems unbelievable. When you notice individuals with disabilities, unfortunate circumstances, and incredible joy; this can give you the insight of how joy is not related to the things that cost money or worldly possessions.
Both of these states of mind are tied to inner control, emotional intelligence, and mental balance. When we can observe the events of our lives but objectively notice how things happen, recognize patterns, and utilize this information to control our mindset; we can actually find joy and peace! I know all too well that life will throw a wrench in your plans, place obstacles in your path, and often times challenge you in so many different ways. I've learned to find my own level of peace and joy by writing my thoughts and intentions consistently. Each of us have to find what peace and joy actually requires us to do daily to align with these states. The world is a mental world, and we can accomplish levels of peace and joy when we learn ways to control our minds while the outward appearances challenge our resolve, fortitude, and persistent thoughts. We have to learn to find these expressions in the simple things in life. I'm not saying that it will be easy, but what I will say is that we can indeed live from this fortunate place in our minds. I challenge you to find out what a peaceful and joyful life looks like for you. What do you imagine that life looks like when you allow yourself to be peaceful and joyful no matter what happens in your life? What thoughts come to mind? How does it feel to be at a peaceful and joyful state in your life?
